Testing of Product Over Extended Periods
After completing my N-Levels, I had the opportunity to work at Semicaps, a leading company developing failure analysis instruments for the semiconductor industry.
During my time there, I was in charge of developing an FDM 3D-printed solution for redirecting low-temperature water vapours away from temperature-sensitive equipment. This began with researching suitable materials, which I had invested several hours doing. Based on my research, my supervisor and I landed on using PA12 CF (Carbon Fibre-Filled Nylon 12) due to its low thermal conductivity as well as it's high mechanical strength.
Having had 2 years of experience with FDM 3D printing, I was able to apply my technical skills and knowledge to design a product that fulfilled its intended function while also being material efficient, significantly cutting down on excess material and costs.
This product is currently installed on a Semicaps machine owned by Global Foundries Singapore, one of the world's leading global semiconductor companies.
